Career Navigator, Stanislaus County
Roberta, our Career Navigator in Stanislaus County, brings over 20 years of dedicated service to the community through various roles within the county. Most recently, she worked as a Job Developer at Stanislaus County Workforce Development, collaborating with local employers to create work-based training programs that facilitated job seekers' reentry into the workforce. She excelled in assisting job seekers with job searches, resume preparation, interview skills, and facilitated job readiness classes for justice-impacted youth, preparing them for their first jobs.
Before her tenure at Workforce Development, Roberta was an advocate at HAVEN, focusing on the needs of survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. She began her advocacy by providing direct services to survivors in hospital emergency rooms and safe shelters. Eventually, she advanced to a program manager role, where she secured state and federal funding to establish a housing program for survivors.
Roberta is a first-generation college graduate who returned to higher education as an adult. She earned two associate's degrees at Modesto Junior College and a bachelor's degree in Sociology from CSU Stanislaus. Roberta is passionate about her work, especially when supporting people and creating opportunities for their success.
Roberta resides in Modesto with her husband, daughter, and their houseful of pets.
