Program Coordinator, HOPE Program for Nursing
Becky Sanders is the Coordinator for the Helping Our People Elevate (HOPE) Program for Nursing. This program enables incumbent healthcare workers in San Joaquin County and high school students from Health Careers Academy in Stockton to pursue an accelerated nursing program at San Joaquin Delta College. She has been an RN since 1976, graduating from University of Ottawa in Canada. She earned her Masters in Nursing from UCLA. She worked as an oncology RN and critical care RN in Los Angeles, Reno and Denver, and has held management positions for almost 20 years.
Locally, she was Intensive Care Director at Lodi Memorial Hospital, and then Emergency Director. She served as interim Emergency Department Director at Dameron Hospital when the pandemic started. She is on the Board of Hospice of San Joaquin and served on the state board for the Association of California Nurse Leaders (ACNL) from 2020-2022.
Becky lives in North Stockton with her husband and came out of retirement to help with the HOPE Program because she knows how important it is to have a committed, stable nursing workforce.
