Janet Ortega, a San Joaquin County native, brings over eight years of experience in healthcare social work and is deeply passionate about helping individuals and families thrive. With a strong commitment to healthcare literacy and access, she is dedicated to empowering others through education, support, and ensuring equitable access to care. Janet's professional journey includes impactful roles at San Joaquin General Hospital, where she worked with underserved populations in an indigent care setting. She also gained valuable experience at Dignity Health and Kaiser Permanente, where she contributed to both inpatient and outpatient care, honing her ability to address a wide array of healthcare needs. Janet holds a Bachelor's in Political Science from CSU Dominguez Hills and a Master's in Social Work from the University of Southern California. Currently pursuing a Master of Science in Management from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, she is focused on enhancing her leadership skills to drive positive change in healthcare delivery. Janet’s work is driven by a belief that empowering individuals through healthcare literacy and access is crucial to creating lasting, meaningful improvements in health outcomes.
